Emergency

Being in pain due to a dental emergency is never convenient. That’s why when it comes to emergency situations, we want to offer you the relief and treatment that you need as soon as possible. We strive to provide emergency appointments to our registered patients as best we can, making sure no one has to suffer needlessly.

Our dentists are here to help you with any broken teeth, lost fillings or crowns, abscesses or anything else you may be facing for which an emergency appointment might be necessary. You can rely on our team to provide the best care and service so that you can feel comfortable again.

What is dental emergency?

Knocked-out a tooth
Controlled bleeding due to facial trauma
Unresolved mouth ulcers, persisting even after two weeks
Unbearable pain impacting your ability to sleep or focus
Swelling of gums, face or neck that is continuing to spread
Pain and discomfort due to damage caused by a broken tooth
If you recently had a tooth extraction and are experiencing prolonged bleeding, beyond 20 minutes despite applying pressure with gauze or hankie for the duration

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, please get in touch with us via phone and we can provide helpful advice and book an emergency appointment if needed.

If you are registered with us

During our opening hours we will do our best to see all emergency cases, and in most instances when called in the morning we can provide a same day emergency appointment. We strive to have all emergency cases seen within 48 hours of their call so that any urgent concerns or pain can be addressed in a timely manner.

If you are not registered with us

We understand that not everyone is registered with us. If you are just visiting the Grampian area and cannot wait until you see your local dentist, or if you recently relocated to the Grampian area and have not registered with a dentist, you can contact the NHS Grampian Dental Information and Advice Line (DIAL) on 0345 45 65 990. DIAL will find a dental practice nearby that can accommodate you and relieve you of your pain.

Non-registered patients seen by our dentist will need to schedule a dental emergency appointment via DIAL. Please note that DIAL service is only available between 8.05 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Out of hours dental emergencies

If you have a problem outside normal opening hours, and during the weekend, please call NHS 24 at 111.

Please note that for all emergency treatments, the standard NHS Charges apply. Our dentists will always discuss the costs with you before starting the treatment. There are no surprises.
