Huntly Dental Practice Expansion: Two New Surgeries
Two new surgeries and three new dentists support Huntly Dental Practice as it expands next door, increasing capacity and paving the way for a wider range of dental services for families across Aberdeenshire and Moray.
The Huntly Dental Practice expansion marks an exciting step in the practice’s development. The refurbishment of the adjoining Reid Flory Building will create two additional surgeries, alongside three new dentists joining the clinical team.
The expansion will bring the practice to eight dentists, with the new unit on course to open by January 2027. This will increase its capacity to support patients through more stages of their dental care and lay the foundations for the planned introduction of additional services, including orthodontics and in-house dental implants, further broadening the range of treatments available to patients.
Caring for your family's smiles at every stage
For Huntly Dental Practice, the expansion is about more than creating additional space. It is about making it easier for families to access the dental care they need and, over time, to receive more of their care in one practice.
With two additional surgeries and an expanded clinical team, the practice will have greater capacity to accommodate appointments while continuing to develop the range of services available to patients.
The increased capacity will also support the practice’s ability to respond to patients requiring urgent dental care, with more same-day emergency appointment slots available, subject to clinical appropriateness and availability.
Building towards more care, under one roof
The expansion supports Huntly Dental Practice’s ambition to provide a broad range of dental care within one practice, helping patients access different stages of their dental journey without unnecessarily travelling elsewhere.
Services currently available across the practice include:
- Emergency dental care
- Preventative and hygiene care
- Restorative dentistry
- Children’s dentistry
- Cosmetic and independent treatments
Although based in Huntly, the practice already welcomes patients from communities across Aberdeenshire and Moray, with some patients travelling further to access the care they need.
The expansion will allow Huntly Dental Practice to build on this wider role while maintaining its focus on personal, patient-centred care.
By expanding its clinical capability, the practice aims to provide more treatment within the practice where clinically appropriate, helping reduce the need for patients to travel elsewhere for care that can safely be provided closer to home.
A commitment to continuous improvement
At Huntly Dental Practice, development goes beyond its facilities and the range of treatments it provides. The practice is committed to continually improving the way it cares for patients, listening to their feedback and reviewing its processes to make their experience as positive and straightforward as possible.
This commitment also extends to the clinical team. Dentists regularly undertake continuing professional development and attend courses to keep their knowledge and skills up to date with the latest clinical techniques, professional guidance and regulatory requirements. This ongoing learning helps the team maintain high standards of care while continuing to develop their expertise.
Our expansion is ultimately about our patients. By adding two new surgeries and growing our clinical team, we can create more capacity and make it easier for families to access a wider range of dental care in one practice. We want patients to feel that whatever stage of their dental journey they are at, they can come to us and find the right care and support.
